Microsoft, corroborating the cloud computing evolution, released on the 12th of this month in Brazil, the Windows Azure – an operating system that provides on-demand computing and storage, in order to host, scale and manage Web applications and services through internet, inside Microsoft´s own data centers.

Azure represents not only a new Microsoft´s strategic approach, but a mark to the technology economic sector. The scale gains generated by this new product enable business that, before, would be technically and/or economically impracticable.

Invit, holding of IT innovative business, is betting in this platform to develop the Projeto Guarda-Costas (Bodyguard Project - in English), a project turned to personal security to the mass market, based in SmartPhones, GPS and Internet.

Such Project was chosen, by Microsoft, as a case of Azure´s use, for being an example of the new types of ventures brought by cloud computing. This is one more sign of the project´s high level of innovation and economic potential that highlights Brazil and the city of Uberlândia.
